What is online/ Telehealth therapy?

Our Teleheath Practice

Life is busy - scheduling concerns, worries about privacy or other issues might make you feel resistant to in-person therapy to address your emotional challenges. Online video therapy

offers women and couples an opportunity to connect with convenience and comfort.

Dr. O utilizes an online video platform called Simple Practice (it’s similar to Skype) because it’s safe, secure, fully encrypted, and HIPPA compliant. It’s also very user-friendly!

While currently residing in Atlanta, GA. Dr. O'Bannon is able to provide online counseling throughout the state of Georgia and New York, where she's also licensed. Dr. O offers individual & group counseling for women, moms, and couples.

To find out if online video therapy is right for you, call or text:

470-531-3777 to schedule a consultation appointment.

Getting Started is Easy! Once you’ve scheduled your first session with and have filled out the initial paperwork, Dr. O'Bannon will send you a link to her online therapy waiting room. At the time of your scheduled session, all you need to do is click on the link and enter your name in the waiting room. Your video counseling session will start shortly after you sign in.

A Relational Approach

Relationships are the single most important source of satisfaction in life

while also being the most potent source of human misery.

 ~Reis and Gable (2003)

What is RCT?

Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT) is a theory of human development that emphasizes the perspective that individuals grow in relationship with one another.

I believe that the human experience is grounded on the premise that establishing healthy and fulfilling relationships with the people around us is needed for a healthy sense of self and healthy life. If you have experienced betrayal, rejection, or abuse in your relationships, healing and restoration are possible.

Online Therapy for Women and Couples

Why online Therapy?

Convenient, Effective, & Private

Women face a unique set of mental health and other life transition challenges. Once you decide to seek therapy with Dr. O,  you should expect to meet with a knowledgeable therapist that is supportive, empathetic, respectful, and sincerely listens to you.

Online therapy offers another method of help for women who may not have the time or ability to engage in conventional treatment.

Women are more likely to have difficulties attending sessions regularly due to family responsibilities.

Victims of Intimate Partner Violence or other hard to reach groups can engage in therapy at times and locations that offer them privacy and safety.

Military women have the advantage of increased confidentiality.

Vulnerability is Strength

Broken trust, shame, and guilt are all feelings that we experience, but we don't talk about it because it may mean being seen as weak by others. However, we know when we don't confront negative emotions freely, seeds of secrecy, silence, and judgment allow shame and guilt to manifest disrupting our relationships and our overall health.

Remove Stigmatization

Stigma causes people to feel ashamed for something that is out of their control. Worst of all, stigma prevents people from seeking the help they need.  Additionally, the lack of awareness about mental health issues, gender-specific treatment options, and lack of diverse clinicians has made it hard for women to choose therapy. Transformation Opportunities is a virtual space where women can speak their truth unapologetically.
